13 hours from Las Vegas to Santa Cruz… it seemed like the desert would never end. Then it seemed like the bald, rolling green hills would never end. I started to feel like the Hobbits when they were lost in that forest and didn’t think they’d ever get out even though they were sure what they were looking for was just over the next hill…
Random analogies aside, it was a pretty nice drive. Then it got even nicer when I finally hit the Pacific Ocean and started my slow, windy drive up the Pacific Coast Highway through Big Sur State Park, one of the most beautiful scenic drives in America.
