<p>Xoko, run by Sweden&#8217;s most sought-after confectionist.</p>
<p>Purveyor to the Royal Court and official Dessert Chef of the 2007 <a href="http://nobelprize.org/nobelfoundation/press/2007/nobel_festival_07.html" target="_blank">Nobel Prize</a> Banquet.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/swedishparker/2164809684/" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2065/2164809684_6dbef83842_m.jpg" alt="Xoco [#05]" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/swedishparker/2164813806/" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2345/2164813806_5b6a9d55b7_m.jpg" alt="Xoco [#02]" border="0" height="240" width="180" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/swedishparker/2164014999/" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2138/2164014999_6e2afc4b33_m.jpg" alt="Xoco [#01]" border="0" height="240" width="180" /></a></p>
<p>Given it&#8217;s significance I couldn&#8217;t possibly resist ordering the &#8220;Nobel 2007&#8243; dessert &#8211; served to guests at Stockholm&#8217;s Nobel Banquet a couple of months back (I was hoping to be able to make a joke here about eating the same dessert as Al Gore, but unfortunately his ceremony was in Oslo&#8230;).</p>
<p>Sure, it cost over 100 krona ($20) for a slither of cake and small scoop of icecream, but I was eating the same dessert as the 2007 Nobel Laureates&#8230; priceless?</p>
<p>And you can always tell a dessert has class when the waitress has to complete the dish at the table.</p>
<p>Amanda&#8217;s &#8220;chocolate sphere&#8221; (not it&#8217;s official title) required the pouring of hot chocolate on top, in order for a hole to melt in the chocolate-shell-exterior that revealed the raspberry sorbet inside&#8230; brilliant.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/swedishparker/2164013775/" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2355/2164013775_6e7d5f652d.jpg" alt="Xoco [#03]" border="0" height="500" width="375" /></a></p>
<p>So Xoko (&#8220;Choco&#8221;, apparently) is expensive, but the desserts are so ridiculously extravagant that it you quickly forget about the price.</p>
